Never taken a CPR class before? You're not alone — and there's nothing to be nervous about! At Second Breath CPR in Lancaster, CA, we make sure every student feels comfortable, confident, and fully prepared by the end of class. Here's a quick walkthrough of what to expect.
Before Class: What to Bring
Wear comfortable clothing — you'll be practicing on the floor with mannequins. Bring a valid ID, your confirmation of payment, and if you're taking a HeartCode (blended learning) course, make sure your online portion is completed before arriving. Payment must be received at least 48 hours before your class.
During Class: Hands-On Learning
Our classes are hands-on and instructor-led. You'll practice chest compressions, rescue breathing, and AED use on training mannequins. Our instructors walk you through each skill step by step, answer your questions, and make sure you're comfortable before moving on. Class sizes are kept small so everyone gets personal attention.
Skills Testing and Certification
At the end of class, you'll complete a skills checkoff and written assessment. Once you pass, your American Heart Association eCard is issued digitally — no waiting for a card in the mail. Your certification is recognized nationwide and is valid for 2 years.
